Faith for the Journey — A Season of Hope
On Saturday, September 13th, men of our parish gathered for a day of prayer, reflection, and fellowship at the 2nd Annual Men’s Retreat.
This year’s theme was, “Faith for the Journey – A Season of Hope.” It featured keynote speaker, Abbot Peter Eberle, OSB of Mt. Angel, and three witness talks by Parish men. Thirty-nine men attended, exceeding last year’s number while meeting this year’s goal.
The Retreat was organized by Paul Bunn, Mike Coco, and Don Veatch.

Growing Closer to God
As always, the ever-present Holy Spirit moved minds and squeezed hearts. Organizer and participant Don Veatch had this to say:
- Abbot Peter’s talk came from his heart and certainly affected my heart as well. It was an honor to have him with us.
- Harrison Lee’s talk on his walk with grief, and how his faith has deepened because of it, was a lesson for us all.
- John Miller’s story was fascinating and truly different in a very good way.
- Finishing off was Mike Coco who was absolutely inspiring. Listening to his devotion to the Rosary and his devotion to our Mother Mary were truly words from an evangelist. I don’t cry often but his talk did move me to tears.
All of our speakers were so good, so thoughtful, and I am ever grateful for their participation.”
May the fruits of this retreat continue to unfold in the days ahead.
