We’re excited to announce our small group series for Lent this year! Using Pope Francis’ newest encyclical Fratelli Tutti, groups will explore what it means to “live out the call to universal fraternity and social friendship […] and reflect more on this invitation to love, social friendship, and solidarity that honors the human dignity of every person (USCCB 2021)”
What is an encyclical?
An encyclical is a letter from the Pope that “applies the consistent, traditional moral teachings of the Church to the social and economic challenges of the current day. (USCCB)”
Why join a group to read it?
We encourage to you to join a group for lots of reasons! 1) A chance to connect with others. 2) New perspectives, ideas, life experiences- there’s so much we can learn from one another! 3) Fulfill your call as a member of the Body of Christ- your unique insights, experiences and talents will be a gift to the other members of your group! 4) Accountability- Sometimes being a part of a group can give you the motivation you need to complete something!
What do I have to do?
Each week there will be a short reflection video, a section to read from Fratelli Tutti, and a small group discussion via Zoom. We will have copies of Fratelli Tutti available on the back counter of the church beginning Saturday, February 13th! You can also access Fratelli Tutti here.
When do the groups meet?
You can choose from any of the following times:
