Resurrection Parish partners with The Father’s Heart Shelter in Oregon City to provide over 300 meals a month- a hot breakfast served by us on the street, a to-go sack lunch, and a hot meal served at the shelter. More detail on exactly how our ministry supports the shelter in Oregon City follows below. Please let us know if you see something of interest to you – we are always looking for help and talent.
1. Saturday Breakfast: parishioners prepare breakfast (at home) while other parishioners volunteer to serve the meal. Supporting activities include bag decorating, breakfast muffin baking, breakfast burrito making, or donations of fruit or other items like socks and water.
2. Hot Meal: a small group of parishioners prepare a hot meal consisting of an entree, side and dessert that is served by TFH shelter on the 4th Wednesday of every month.
3. Sack lunch: a small group of parishioners prepare sack lunches at the church on the 4th Wednesday of the month that are delivered with the hot meal. Visitors of the shelter take the lunches with them as nourishment for later in the day.
4. Delivery: one or two people are needed on the 4th Wednesday of the month to pick up sack lunches and the hot meal and deliver them to the shelter.

About The Father’s Heart Street Ministry
TFH is a Christian-based day shelter in Oregon City. Their Ministry provides a safe refuge for the homeless population, which includes families living in vehicles, seniors, veterans, and single mothers and fathers. They provide resources for basic human needs, to name a few include: 3 meals a day (provided to more than 100 visitors four days a week), warm showers and haircuts, clothing exchange and basic medical. It takes an entire parish to help with all the tasks necessary each month. Our volunteers are so generous! It has been a wonderful ministry, one that can allow you to be flexible with your volunteer time. You can choose to be hands-on with the shelter, prepare meals with new friends at the parish, or you can donate supplies and food. The possibilities are unlimited!
