Resurrection Catholic Parish relies on volunteers and eagerly welcomes parents and guardians to form our Faith Formation Core Teams, as well as for various events at our school. All volunteers are required to follow the guidelines set forth by the Archdiocese of Portland. Click here to review our Volunteer Guidelines.
Ensuring the protection of our Children and Youth
Resurrection Catholic School and Parish, along with every other school and church within the Archdiocese of Portland, follows requirements for child protection training. These requirements are set forth by the Archdiocese to ensure that our volunteers and staff are trained and cleared to work in schools, and that our schools and churches remain safe for our children and youth.
- For all volunteers working with minors, a background check as well as mandatory in-person training is required. Please review the information below and contact the Parish Office at office@rcparish.org to get started.
We encourage you to complete these steps as soon as possible so you are available when opportunities to volunteer arise. The steps may take time to schedule and complete so don’t delay! We appreciate your support.
Volunteer Steps:
1) Background Check:
- If you are a school volunteer, click here to initiate a background check.
- If you are a parish or Faith Formation volunteer, click here to initiate a background check.
2) In-Person Training: Complete one in-person C.A.S.E training. Dates and locations are listed below. Please be sure to sign up!
3) Online Training Module: This follow-up course to the C.A.S.E training is called, “Keeping Your School Safe,” and is required for all clergy, employees, and volunteers who work with minors. Using the email address you used for the Background Check, log in Praesidium Academy, select the course, and complete it before December 1, 2026.

Protecting Veil of the Mother of God
In the Icon of the Protecting Veil of the Mother of God, written for the people of God and residing in Resurrection Catholic Parish, we see a new translation of an ancient and deeply venerated image dating to an extraordinary event in the 10th century. That event, the miraculous appearance of the Mother of God in Constantinople, occurred in the Blachernae church where her robe, veil, and part of her belt were preserved after being transferred from Palestine in the fifth century.
