Using yarn provided by the generosity of the church, we are a crochet and knitting group who combine a love of the craft with practical gifts given as a sign of God’s love for comfort and solace, celebration, and in joy.
These items include:
- Prayer shawls, gifted for various reasons:
- including the loss of a loved one, for those hurting as a result of medical, emotional, and/or or mental issues;
- those celebrating milestones such as weddings, the birth of first grandchild, or special birthdays;
- OCIA candidates, etc.
We also provide:
- Baby blankets for Catholic Charities;
- Hats & scarves for homeless shelters, food pantries and clothes closets; and
- Finally infant baptismal shawls for baptisms in our church.
We meet weekly throughout the year on most Tuesdays from 12pm-2pm in the Fireside room. All skill levels are invited to join and we welcome you any time during the year. If you have questions or would like to request a prayer shawl, please contact Laura Hamel at lhamel315@hotmail.com
