Join Us and you can contribute your time and talents to serve those in need in the community. You can use your talents in a variety of ways, range from leadership to home delivery of food. No matter what role you choose, you are welcomed into a fellowship of parishioners at Resurrection Parish who desire to serve and support the needy. We perform that service without judgment and reservation, using the resources provided and our personal commitments.
The primary role of the Vincentian is not to pay the bills, furnish groceries, or clothe someone. The role of the Vincentian is to provide loving and compassionate interest in individuals. If that interest calls for food, clothing or other assistance so be it. However, it is in loving where the contact with Christ emerges. That contact with Christ is what separates the Society of St. Vincent de Paul from just another social agency.

Food
Your generosity throughout the year sustains the mission of SVdP at Resurrection Parish, providing emergency food and in-place shelter for those in need. The on-going need for your contributions of nonperishable food affords us the opportunity to reach out to those in need, provide support, and comfort as they may require.
SVdP has a collection cart in the foyer of Rossman Hall where you can leave your nonperishable food donations. The collected food is placed in the pantry on the campus of Resurrection Parish. Yes, there is a pantry on the church grounds. If you would like a tour just ask a Vincentian.
Fresh meat and produce purchased locally supplements your food donations to provide the recipients a food box with complete and nutritious meals. See the Parish weekly bulletin for a current list of items most needed.
Funds & Donations
Your donations purchase food, pay rent/utility bill assistance within the community and support local conferences that are in need while experiencing short-tem, high demands. All SVdP volunteers donate their time and the costs of food delivery.
During the year, donors may contribute directly to SVdP Resurrection Conference or through the Parish with your donation marked for SVdP.

Annual Appeal Letter
Resurrection Conference’s Annual Appeal in November is our primary source of funds. The Annual Appeal is sent to the Resurrection Catholic Parish members and other donors. The funds support the Thanksgiving Day boxes, the emergency food boxes, rent, utility assistance, and the financial needs of the Portland community for the coming year. Your donations are critical to the success of the local program and are deeply appreciated.
